2024年のコンサート・ハイライトには、ブルグミュラー《ハープのためのロンド》（作品1）日本初演を含む浜離宮朝日ホール主催《中村愛ハープ・リサイタル》、フォーレ没後100年の命日に行う同主催《オール・フォーレ・デュオ・リサイタル》などが挙げられる。同年5月には、吹奏楽の巨匠ヨハン・デ・メイ指揮のもと、氏より献呈を受けたドビュッシー＝デ・メイ《月の光》他でソリストを務めたアルバム『カサノヴァ』をワールドワイド・リリース。「輝かしいハーピスト・中村愛は、私にソロ楽器としてのハープの持つ大いなる可能性に気付かせ、その手法の新たなステージへと導いてくれた」と称賛されるなど、デ・メイとは取り分け深い信頼関係を結び、2023年には同氏指揮／スロヴェニア国防軍オーケストラと共演。同年スロヴェニア・リュブリャナでリサイタルを行う。また、フォーレ《レクイエム》（全曲）シューマン《子供の情景》（全曲）、ラフマニノフ《前奏曲》（鐘）をはじめ多くの作品のハープ編曲・実演の他、自作曲作品《イギリス国歌の主題による変奏曲》を彬子女王殿下ご臨席のもと御前演奏するなど、ハープの可能性を広く模索している。2022年には世界的バレリーナ、スヴェトラーナ・ザハロワと《瀕死の白鳥》で共演。音楽・絵画・文学を主軸とした学際的な研究をライフワークとし、国立新美術館／大阪中之島美術館「テート美術館展《光 ― ターナー、印象派から現代へ》」を含む大型展覧会における公式演奏会の企画制作、東邦音楽大学エクステンションセンター講師など、多岐にわたる活動を展開している。主な研究分野は「象徴主義における音楽」。

Megumi Nakamura (Harp)
Megumi Nakamura has made her career as a solo harpist in Japan and overseas.
Since 2022 she has appeared annually at Tokyo’s prestigious Hamarikyu Asahi Hall to give recitals, where she Japan-premiered “Rondo” by Burgmüller originally written for harp at her solo recital in 2024, and performed her arrangement of the whole “Requiem” at “All Faure” duo recital dedicated to the centennial of Faure’s death.
That same year she world-wide released “De Meij : Casanova” album, in which she played works including “Claie de Lune” by Debussy/de Meij (arrangement dedicated to her) as soloist under the baton of maestro Johan de Meij. Maestro de Meij hails her as “Brilliant harpist Megumi Nakamura has taken me to a completely new stage where I see much greater possibilities for the harp as solo instrument”, and in 2023 she performed with the Slovenian Armed Forces Orchestra under his baton in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where she also gave a recital.
Impassioned and dedicated to widen the repertoire for her instrument, she has made a wide range of arrangements for harp, including “Requiem” (the whole work) by Faure, “Prelude” (op.3-2) and “Vocalise” (in the original key) by Rachmaninoff, in addition to introducing less-spotlighted works originally written for it.
In 2022 she performed “The Dying Swan” with the world-renowned ballerina Svetlana Zakharova, and in 2023 she performed her own composition “Variations on a Theme of God Save the King” for Her Imperial Highness Princess Akiko of Mikasa.
Having a multi-faceted approach towards music making based on long-running and profound research, she has co-worked with some of the major museums in Japan to make official concerts tied to their exhibitions, such as the Tate Collection Exhibition hosted by the National Art Centre, Tokyo.
